PERSEPSI PEMIMPIN SEKOLAH MENENGAH TERHADAP AMALAN KOMUNITI PEMBELAJARAN PROFESIONAL DI NEGERI JOHOR

Abstract

Distributive leadership is a popular leadership theory especially among school leaders. This study aims to identify the perception of secondary school leaders in the state of Johor towards the professional learning community. This study uses a quantitative approach by using a correlational design. A total of 358 secondary school leaders consisting of subject committee heads, senior subject teachers, senior assistants and principals were selected using cluster random sampling from several secondary schools in the state of Johor. The state of Johor was chosen because the number of studies related to distributive leadership practices involving all school leaders is limited. Data was collected using the "Professional Learning Communities Assessment - Revised" developed by Olivier et al. (2010) which has been adapted from English into Malay. The data was analyzed using a frequency test using SPSS Statistics Version 25 software. The study showed that secondary school leaders in the state of Johor agreed with all the practices of the professional learning community.
