Abstract

During Dutch colonial in Malacca, in order to effectively manage the various Malacca ethnic groups, the Dutch appointed seven different groups of Kapitan, with their own governance of the ethnic groups. Among them, Notchin and Tay Hong Yong successively became Malacca former two Chinese Kapitan, to handle the Malacca Chinese Society affairs. However, in the history of Malaysian Chinese, Notchin and Tay Hong Yong's life story less historical records, resulting in their two life stories appear different opinions, many discrepancies. Until 2015, a field investigation carried out in Wenyuan Village, Longhai City, Zhangzhou, Fujian Province, from the hands of the Zheng clan to obtain Zheng Families Genealogy and found that the genealogy and the two of them have close relations. Therefore, this article will be based on the Zheng Families Genealogy, to clarify the relationship among Notchin and Tay Hong Yong with Wenyuan Village Yi Gu Tang Zheng family. The above clarification and analysis may serve as a reliable basis for the future studies of Notchin and Tay Hong Yong for in-depth research.

马六甲华人甲必丹Notchin与郑芳扬生平事迹补遗 ——以《龙海市文苑社郑氏族谱》为依据


摘要
荷兰殖民马六甲初期,荷兰人在不同族群中委任七位甲必丹,以有效管理马六甲各族和便于各族群的治理。其中,Notchin与郑芳扬先后成为马六甲前两任华人甲必丹,主要负责处理马六甲华人社会的事务。然而,在马来西亚华人叙述历史中,较少有关Notchin与郑芳扬的记载,关于他们的生平事迹众说纷纭,多有出入。2015年,笔者前往福建省漳州龙海市榜山镇文苑村进行田野考察时,从郑氏族人手中获取与Notchin、郑芳扬身世密切相关的《龙海市文苑社郑氏族谱》,才有了对两位华人甲必丹的研究历史线索。本文将会依据《龙海市文苑社郑氏族谱》,梳理Notchin、郑芳扬与文苑村诒谷堂郑氏家族之间的关系。文中所进行的厘清与分析工作,或许可成为同仁未来研究Notchin及郑芳扬的依据之一,并进行深入研究。
