Abstract

of 105 Bruneian business managers. The study modifies the existing
Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to describe the Internet usage
behaviour. Perceived usefulness (PU) was modified with perceived near
term usefulness and perceived long-term usefulness and was hypothesised
with experience with the Internet and facilitating condition at the
organisational level. A Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique was
used to statistically validate the new model. The data from business
managers confirmed that only prior experience with the Internet has a
strong impact with the utilisation of the Internet and 49 per cent of the
variance is explained toward utilisation. Based upon the results some
recommendations were made.
